Y Ball

y ball 7

on friday, Adam and i had a little date night to the Y Ball, a free dinner and dance for married couples put on by BYU.
we almost didn’t go.
i was feeling stressed because i had to catch up on a lot of emails and such and i was just tired from an exhausting week with Elijah and Adam was wanting to just relax at home for the night.

but then i got to thinking and realized that:
1. i could really use a break from Elijah since i was kind of hating motherhood that week,
and 2. if i was really going to prioritize my life, then i needed to be okay with making people wait and spend quality time with my husband and strengthen our bond.

needless to say, i’m really REALLY glad we decided to go and have giddy fun for a night!
it was much much needed since we hadn’t been on a date for a while and it reminded me of all the fun we used to have when we were dating.
by the way, Adam is a great dancer! pretty much my favorite part of the night.

it was pretty much just a typical dance with a photo booth, magician, contortionist, acrobat, bingo game & a rendition of On My Own from Les Miserables. {?!?}
yep. you read that right.
it was so weird and crazy but SO much fun!!

the theme was “wedding reception” {who has acrobats at their wedding reception though??} and they had this little archway set up for pictures. i thought it would be pretty awesome if took jumping pictures instead of just standing there like everyone else.
boooooooooring.

[and fail!]

yeah, it didn’t work.
so we decided to be boring and traditional instead.

i love Adam!
i’m so glad we got to go out and act like weirdos together.
there’s no one else i’d rather attempt to take jumping pictures with.
:)

with the celebration of Marriage Week, i thought it would be fun to find out what are some of your favorite dates [married or not married]?
what do you like to do to spend time together?

you guys are such a good lookin couple! I am glad you decided to go out, I am sure you didn't regret that. We went to a Christmas party a few years ago where they had a photo booth and it was that day I KNEW I would have one at my wedding!

Fun dates...well I'd have to say dressing up all fancy and going dancing!! If you've been reading my love story you would see thats how I met my hubby :-)
