Thanksgiving

For Thanksgiving this year, I spent it with Adam and his family. It was really fun to meet his aunts, uncles, and cousins and to just hang out with Adam.

First, I insisted that Thanksgiving is not Thanksgiving without the Macy's parade. So me and Adam woke up and made a big breakfast of french toast, scrambled eggs, bacon and juice and watched the parade together.

Then, I went with Adam and Nathan over to the park and played some football. Actually, I think I only threw it about 5 times. The rest of the time I watched the boys make plays and then climbed a tree.
Jonathan finally came and we went over to Adam's grandma's for dinner. Dinner was really good! I heard his aunts were good cooks but it was even better tasting it for myself. After dinner, we played Phase 10 with his cousins and then this other card game called Hokie 6 after dessert. Which, by the way, dessert was also delicious.

Hokie 6 was freaking intense! There were cards everywhere, children crying, yelling and screaming, and me punching Adam in the face for getting a better score. Okay. That's a little exaggerated. But it was intense and I did get really competitive with Adam. Mom, if you're reading this, it was just like Pounce but you didn't have a partner. You were all on your own out there!

After his grandma's, we went back to Adam's and played some pool and then another game with Emily, Alyson and their friend Cameron. This game also resulted in some beating down and name calling. I think I need rehab for competitiveness.
Being with his family, even though they are great, really made me miss my family and our Thanksgiving traditions. I didn't have my cousin Melanie there to have a plate eating contest and then to have a great feast later that night, we didn't go see a new movie in the movie theater with all the family after dinner and I didn't have my mom's famous rolls. Don't get me wrong, the food I had was really good and I liked it a lot. It just made me homesick. I miss my family.

I hope every one's Thanksgivings were great and you got to spend time with all your family and pass out from all the delicious food. I'm lucky cause Adam's family gave me bags of leftovers. So its still Thanksgiving for at least another week!
