this guy.

this guy just finished his first year of dental school.
and not just finished, but excelled.
{top of the class what, WHAATT!!!}

this guy just got through one of the hardest years of our little family's life.
and not just got through it, but came out more confident than ever.

this guy just studied is BUTT off every.single.day. this year.
and not just studied, but continued to help and make time for others (classmates, church members, family) even when he was overwhelmed with hard exams.

this guy was constantly there for his crazy family on top of crazy studying.
and not just there for us, but pulling us {me} through when it felt like everything was crumbling down.

this guy fulfilled so many additional duties & callings outside of school this past year.
and not just fulfilled them, but went far above and beyond what was needed.

this guy continues to be one of the hardest & dedicated workers i have known.
and he continues to impress me more every day that we are together.

i could not be more proud of Adam and all that he has accomplished.
i could not be more happy to go through life with him, with my perfect match.

this last year really was hard.
hard. hard. hard.
but looking back i realize that even though there were some tough emotions & difficult circumstances to go through, none of that matters much anymore.
because we are here now. together.
and we made it!

Adam, you rock my proverbial socks off!
you are amazing, in every sense of the word.

here's to 3+ more years of school!!!
yaaaaayyy...... :/

:: remember this post?? well, the people at Journal10 contacted me and wanted to offer all of you guys a discount on your new journals! Use the code ROBINSON at check out to receive 10% off your new Journal10 journal from now until the end of May. think Father's Day gifts :)

I did it!!!

all bright & shiny before the race!
waiting for the race to start

my little cheerleader with blue hands :)
thankful for this girl for pushing me the whole way!

nailed it.
on Saturday i ran in my very first race ever!!
it wasn't that long and i totally suck at running.... but i still can't even believe i went through with it!

my friends encouraged me to sign up with them and since running a 5K was on my 20 wishes list for this year, i decided to go for it even though i never run.
ever.
never ever.

but i finished. and more importantly, i survived.
AND i completed it under my goal time!
so i mean... i thought that was pretty great :)

Adam and Elijah came to cheer me on too. as much as i told him he really didn't need to come, i was really happy to see them on the sidelines smiling, clapping, and yelling "GO MEGAN!!"
i feel like i feel in love with both of them a little more that day.

and anything with bubbles + hanging out outside + eating fruit snacks all day automatically means that Elijah will have the time of his life.

i was telling Adam today that i was feeling kind of bad about it all since i didn't really run that far
or have that great of time
and other people run way bigger races
and i couldn't believe i was proud of such a small thing....

but Adam reassured me how proud he was of me and that for just starting out running it was a great accomplishment. he also reminded me that i should feel good about myself for what i've done instead of comparing myself to others all the time.

which is true. comparing is my weakness.

but looking at these pictures again reminds me of the rush i did have for completing something that was honestly a big challenge for me.
maybe i'm not the best runner. or have the most endurance. or the fastest.
but i'm good enough for me.
and i should be more proud about that.

so..... all in all, it was a pretty exciting & momentous day!!
I DID IT!!!!
:)

gone shooting

[i should preface this post by saying this is NOT a post about gun control. just a fun outing with guns :)]
my friend's baby is the prettiest baby there ever was. i cannot get enough of her!

ever since Adam got a shotgun he has been wanting to take me to "learn" how to use it.
i kept telling him that there is absolutely no reason why i need to know how to shoot a gun.
mainly because i'm deathly terrified of firearms and constantly have images of me or someone else i love getting blown to pieces.

on one of the days that Adam got out of school early, i reluctantly agreed to go to the desert to go shooting for a little bit.
after a minor anxiety attack {not an exaggeration. i was near tears.} Adam finally helped me work up enough courage to shoot the shotgun.
it ended up being a lot of fun even though i'm a terrible shot and didn't hit a single thing.
but i was just proud that i even did it at all!

it was such a small, cheap activity but was still really great to be able to spend time together and enjoy each other's interests, even if i kind of hate guns.
plus any time alone away from parent life is priceless.
in just an hour's time i felt closer to Adam than i had felt all week.
[especially when he was trying to comfort me during my freak out]

and Adam thinks it's hot that i know how to shoot a gun now. ;)

happy homecoming

my very best friend Amy just returned home from her year-and-a-half LDS mission in Tahiti.
oh man, have i missed her!

Amy and i met the very first night of Freshman year up at BYU.
i was immediately drawn to her because she was so cool, funny, and was from Arizona.
right when i heard those words i immediately introduced myself and in that moment i met one of the best friends i have ever had.

we have been through a lot together.
college
boys/boyfriends
working at Taco Bell
late night study sessions that turn into writing on each other's Facebook walls
being hilarious
Beto's runs
early morning labs
crappy jobs
roommates
road trips
friends going on missions
dance parties
bringing the rain, Optimus Prime style
awkward dates
ditching school to read Harry Potter
drama in every shape and form
marriage & babies
and lots and lots of other amazing memories!

Amy is one of the only people that gets me and truly one of the funnest people around.
if you read our wall-to-wall, you would know just how hilarious we are.
cause seriously it's the best thing ever.

i'm so so happy she's home and we are able to live in Arizona so we could see her.
[[even though we got there an hour early cause the flight was delayed and Elijah had multiple meltdowns that included blood curdling screams especially when he got a paper cut from the poster and it was basically the most embarrassing & torturous experience ever with a toddler....]]
it was all so worth it once we saw Amy come through the gate!

it's been a loooooooooooong 1.5 years and i can't wait to make up the time apart.
WELCOME HOME, MY LOVELY AMY FRIEND!!!!!!
{lots of exclamations just how you like it ;)}

now i know my ABCs

oh yeah.
my son is freaking adorable!
in case you needed reminding
:)

some things to note:
1 this is a total “for the grandparents” video so i won’t be offended if no one else cares about my son. but you should care cause he’s awesome and literally the most beautiful/cutest kid around. which is a fact not being biased.

2. he really does know the letters. but LOVES saying “I” and “Y” so he gets hung up on those. thankfully we took this video a little before he became too obsessed with “I” and started refusing to say any other letters (even though he knows them and it’s so so so cute!)

3. my favorite is his “Q, R, S, T, U, V” which i’m sad he didn’t do very well in this video. but he’s still the cutest kid ever so i’ll let it slide. :)

4. k but seriously, this video makes me smile and want to kiss that little boy over and over again because he’s the cutest thing around!! i mean listen to his little voice!! i die!!

so basically i’m completely freaking out right now.
i don’t even really know how to process this much excitement.

let me start from the beginning,
a few days ago, i received an email from the editor of Leslie Blake Magazine [an online magazine that talks about fashion, entertainment, lifestyle, and more] asking me if i would be interested in writing an article for newlyweds to be published in their wedding issue to be published in a couple of days.

uh, yeah i would!!

it was all done really fast and all seemed so surreal.
and then this morning i received an email saying,
“the magazine was published!”

I’M PUBLISHED!!!!
like i said, i am seriously freaking out.

you can read my article called “Why Isn’t My Marriage Like the Movies?” on pg. 39 of the Leslie Blake Magazine  AND view my picture on pg. 21 on the contributor’s page.
contributor!!

i feel so incredibly blessed!
this has been a total dream of mine for years and the fact that i was able to be featured in a magazine is just amazing.
i know it is all because of the Lord and He has truly been blessing me and my family!

please check it out here and tell me what you think!
:)

Christmas Eve bowling

 bowling 1 bowling 2 bowling 3bowling 6 bowling 4 bowling 5

we went bowling on Christmas Eve with Adam’s brothers + Holli and our niece Camilla.
i’ve always wanted to take Elijah bowling cause i thought he would love all the bowling balls and watching the pins crash down.

yeah…
my hunches may have been wrong.

but
i’m convinced it was only because Elijah was super tired so that’s why he was pretty grumpy the whole time
[as any good mother/blogger, i only took pictures of the good times to fool you :)]

Adam’s dad was a saint and would walk around with him to help keep him distracted so we could enjoy ourselves a bit. and besides Eli being a total party pooper, it was a lot of fun!!

i always love it when we get to go out & spend some time with Adam’s younger brothers and family!
i have always wanted little brothers, so i’m glad Adam let’s me share his
:)

annnnnnd let the record show that it was I who beat everyone in the first game!!
{Travis, you still owe me Flip’s!}
we won’t talk about the second game though…

cougars don’t cut corners

4 years ago {yesterday} my Family Home Evening (FHE) group in my young single adult ward made this hilarious video for our ward talent show.

a little background about our group:
in case you didn’t click that link, Family Home Evening (FHE) is something that families hold once a week (usually on Mondays) where they can draw closer together as a family and strengthen their testimonies. since we were in a singles ward and didn’t have a real, traditional family to have FHE each week, they would combine apartments and ask a girl and a boy to be our “mom” and “dad.”

and since we were an awesome FHE group, we decided to make a spoof of The Office
{complete with a wallet stuck in a vending machine}
called The FHE!

there’s a lot of Provo/BYU/Mormon jokes thrown in there {especially about dating & marriage}
but i think it is still really funny even if you don’t live in Provo

so i wanted to share this amazing video with all of you!
and you can see what i was like 4 years ago
:)

a few notes:
1.
i’m supposed to be the Kelly Kapoor character that’s why i’m kind of ridiculous
2. i do in fact know the whole High School Musical dance. and i’m not ashamed. i will dance it for you if you ever want to see it in real life :)
3. yes my hair is super short. and i really miss it.
4. at the end when i say, “i think we’re ready to perform in public,” we all rushed the stage at the talent show and performed the dance in front of our whole ward. cause again,
we are awesome like that!

ENJOY!
{i hope it’s as funny to you as i think it is…}

favorite quotes:

Ellen: “Provo is more than just a marriage ground. It’s also about education… and faith… and ethnic restaurants. People forget that. You never see married couples in ethnic restaurants these days.”

Frans: “They have to know who their father is. The purpose of FHE is to prepare us for real families—families in which there is a daddy, a mommy, about 24 kids, in an apartment made for 6. It sets the standard.”

Andrew: “Two Truths and a Lie is the best FHE game EVER! The prototype, if you will. Get this: 1. you learn which girls have done crazy things, and 2. you learn which girls are the best liars—two things I look for in a girl. This may sound strange, but I’ve found that the best liars are also the ones who say they’ve enjoyed my dates the most.”

Megan: “Look! Cougars don’t cut corners. Unless they are chasing deer. Cause deer are fast… but even then, the do it right!”

look, mom!

i’m in the paper!!

BYU article

the lovely Hayley from The Newlywed Pingrees interviewed me for the school paper about blogging & sponsors.

first of all, what a huge honor!!
Hayley is so amazing to work with and i felt so special that she would ask little ol’ me to help her with an article about blogging. AND she is incredibly patient because i totally spaced setting up a meeting with her one day when Eli was being a little terror.
so thank you thank you Hayley for everything!!

when Hayley told me the paper was published, i looked at it first thing and just couldn’t stop grinning!
i made Adam pick up a copy at school and he said he lovingly talked me up to his friends in class cause he was so proud of me. :)

basically, it was awesome!
thank you again, Hayley, for making it possible!
you will be a GREAT journalist someday!!

you can read the full article here.

:::p.s. i don’t “make bank” at all. in fact, i don’t make any money having sponsors on my sidebar. they are all free sponsor swaps. just to make that clear :)
