How We Wore It // Fashion Collaboration

This month's Fashion Collaboration inspiration is from Robyn Vilate and is a fun, casual outfit. 

Perfect for a mom on the go especially in the ridiculously hot summer months.

I love how she is able to make such a simple outfit look so cute. 

And seriously her hat inspires me. 

I don't think I can pull of hats! 

But I'd love to try so I don't have to do my hair as often. 

Even though it reminds me of my awesome concession days at BYU ;) 

I didn't really have any of the elements of her outfit except a hat and some {fake} converse. 

But decided to try my take on a casual, day-to-day outfit.

I traded in the jeans for a comfy, lightweight maxi skirt from BellaPia Designs. 

I think sometimes maxi skirts can be almost heavier and hotter than pants. 

But I love how soft and lightweight it is and it's perfect for the summer. 

Also, yeah, I should wear hats more. 

And not ever get ready again :)

How We Wore It // Fashion Collaboration

Another round of How We Wore It! 

It's always a good exercise to shop my closet and see it all in a fresh, new light. 

And my budget always likes it too cause it decreases my chances of emotional shopping sprees ;) 

For this month the original outfit came from Memorandum:

Since I just did an outfit with a white, tulle skirt, I tried to go outside the box a little bit and use something else for inspiration. 

I decided to try to mimic the general use of neutrals and do my own twist on each piece. 

This is what I came up with:

{polka-dot chambray shirt --> purply-gray gingham}

&

{white, pleated skirt --> cream, lace, see-through overlay skirt}

When I asked Adam how it looked for pictures he said, 

"Well, you can see through your skirt...."

I told him you're supposed to and he wasn't really impressed, ha!

Actually, the original slip of this skirt was a little shorter underneath. So I took one of my longer white slips and added it on top of the original slip to make it more modest. I thought it worked out nicely... But maybe I need a {hopefully nicer?} second opinion.

How We Wore It // Fashion Collaboration

It's time for another round of How We Wore It! 

I love these fashion collabs because it helps stretch my creativity and shop my closet. 

A lot of times I don't even realize that certain items could work well together and I feel like I get in the same rotation a lot. 

So it's fun to mix around pieces and try to be a little more creative with my choices. 

Especially with shoes! 

This month's look comes from Little Miss Fearless.

What stood out to me the most were the shoes! 

I realized I had some fun, buckled heels that I hardly ever pull out 

{kid problems!} 

and thought this would be a fun opportunity to add them to a more casual look than just special events.

So here's my interpretation:

It was so fun to use a lot of my favorite pieces in one look! 

And perfect for springtime.

And it gave me a good excuse to actually get ready and dressed up today for pictures instead of staying in my leggings like usual ;)

How We Wore It: Fashion Collaboration

Today, I'm joining up with other awesome bloggers to do a fun "How We Wore It" post. 

We were given a picture for inspiration and had to come up with an outfit based on it. 

This is the outfit we were given for inspiration:

I must admit, when I first saw this picture I was kind of in a bit of shock. 

It's a super cute outfit but one I was pretty sure I could not pull off or replicate in any way. 

I don't have any hats or fur or cute bags or a plaid shirt... 

But this is what I came up with:

undershirt: Shade // crochet top: Forever 21 // vest: thrifted // pants: Forever 21 // shoes: Target // necklace: Hearts.com

I decided to base my outfit off the colors of the original outfit and put some of the small details elsewhere. 

So the maroon hat translated to my maroon booties. 

The plaid shirt was shown in the plaid vest. 

The color of the fur vest inspired my crocheted top. 

And the stack of gold bracelets was represented by the gold necklace stack.

And the leather pants were just kind of fun because I love them :) 

(Or you could say they were inspired by the handbag?)

This was a really fun collaboration to do! 

I love being able to stretch my fashion creativity and try new things. 

I probably never would have originally thought to put these different items together originally.

It definitely help get me out of my postpartum fashion {and blog!} funk!
