National Marriage Week

February 7th to 14th of every year is National Marriage Week.
it is part of Marriage Week International where 16 different countries have encouraged local leaders and communities to work together to support and strengthen marriages in their countries.

the mission of marriage week is to “encourage many diverse groups to strengthen individual marriages, reduce the divorce rate, and build a stronger marriage culture, which in turn helps curtail poverty and benefits children.”

i first heard about National Marriage Week when i first started working with StrongerMarriage.org.
i was really impressed that there was a national movement to help strengthen marriages.
even if it doesn't get much attention.

quite simply, marriage works. {if you choose to make it work!}
there have been numerous studies that have shown tons of physical, spiritual, economical, psychological (and more!) benefits to marriage.
[you can find a list of 30 benefits to marriage here.]
but besides research, many people will personally attest to the benefits of marriage and having a life-long companion to help you through the good and bad times.

this week, in honor of National Marriage Week, i will be sharing posts & articles all about marriage.
i also am really excited to have some of my close, bloggy friends share their own thoughts & tips on marriage.

i hope you will join me this week in helping to promote stronger marriages and relationships!
this is a topic that is dear to my heart
and i sincerely hope that this week many of you will feel inspired & uplifted to strengthen your own relationships!

you can find more information about National Marriage Week here
and if you’re in Utah and would like to participate in local marriage events and classes visit here.

This is really neat!! I just found out a friend from hs is getting a divorce after 3 years of marriage. :-( it makes me sad that these things happen. Even with my health issues, my hubby said nothing will break us apart like so many others. :-)
Love yiur pics.

Isn't marriage awesome? Next step for me, parenthood (okay in a couple years). Thanks for stopping by the blog, and saying hello. I hope you'll make some of our recipes and let us know what you think!

good for you for being such a strong advocate! I took a community nutrition class and we studied about how, as a whole, dietetics association is for marriage because, again as a whole, the people are healthier and make healthier eating choices! It really is ordained of God. It is optimal to our happiness. I feel so blessed to have that in my life right now. GO MARRIAGE!
