Elijah-isms

Easter pictures. he thought the pumpkin was needed for Easter cause you know, they both get candy i guess.

this cute little heartbreaker will be THREE on Sunday!
i can't believe it.
how did he get big so fast?
and how has it only been three years since he entered our lives when it feels like he's been with us forever?

little not-so-much-a-baby E is a CHAR.ACT.ER!!
serious.
this kid makes us laugh every day.
here are some of his most recent funny Elijah-isms that i think are pretty hilarious.

me: "Elijah, are you my best friend?"
E: "yeah!"
me: "am i your best friend?"
E: "no!"
me: "who's your best friend?"
E: "chocolate cake & candy"
of course.

E: "Mama, just go to sleep. shhhh...."
then proceeds to rub my hair and "sing" to me
sweetest moment of my mothering life.

me: "Elijah you're going to be 3!!"
E: "i have a birthday?"
me: "yeah on Sunday it's your birthday"
E: "oh, we'll see mom? we'll see?"
sure... we'll see if you have a birthday.

and since "we'll see" is Eli's new favorite phrase, here's another one:
E: "mom we go to da park?"
me: "no not now."
E: "oh, okay we'll see??"
me: "no we aren't going today."
E: "oh we'll see, we'll see."

lately when i ask Elijah to do something, he does this crazy grin, puts his finger in the air and says,
"of course, mother!!"

me: "Elijah are you a sweet boy?"
E: "NOOO!!"

yeah... that last one sums up a lot of our days.
but really Elijah is a very sweet boy.
he's my best friend, my little boyfriend, and the absolute love of my life even amidst all the screaming matches that are thrown down around here.
{him screaming that is.... and maybe me too especially into my pillow}

can't wait to see more of his little personality come out as he continues to grow.
lovin' that little boy of mine!

Beautiful child! Him saying "we'll see" reminds me of my daughter saying "in a minute!" right after she asks for anything because usually I'm busy with her little brother and I need a minute lol She will be 3 in November and I know exactly what you mean about the time. How has it passed so quickly and how has it not been longer all at the same time!

Things are nice to have. Pretty, shiny things, perhaps even nicer. And some things are necessary. But things do not make life worth living. People do. Material possessions can be replaced; people cannot. Take away the people you love, and suddenly things no longer matter. All the more reason to put them first. Love them while they are here.
