Last month I was lucky enough to be the interview-ee in a interview post by Megan and to offer you guys a great giveaway. It turned out fantastic and I feel God just really hand-picked the winner himself and it's been such a blessing to me. And so I just jumped at an opportunity to connect with all of you again!

If you recall (and even if you don't!) Megan asked me a question about unused talents and my answer was poetry. Oh how I used to love to write. Words are just so powerful and beautiful, aren't they? So I remembered a certain assignment I had in a college creative writing class I took to use a word with dual meaning in a short poem and here is what I came up with.

The shutter hung,
desperately waiting,
aching correction
of its crooked ways.
A stale sadness
pervading the landscape.
The shutter hung,
and I shuddered.

Get it? Shutter, shuddered?! So incredibly talented, right? (wink, wink) Well, my whole point behind the post is one simple word---perspective. Was that shutter really crooked? Could an inanimate object really ache for correction? Could sadness become a tangible inhabitant of the landscape? From my perspective---yes. But could it be from yours?

Growing up I always struggled with contentment. You know, goes along with "the grass is always greener", and I just feel like that all boils down to how you look at and handle everyday life situations. Instead of focusing on its crookedness, I choose to focus on its beauty. So that's MY perspective on learning to be content and also a little bit of a dusting off of my creative writing closet!  Now let's move on to the fun stuff---the giveaway!

Up for grabs is a "what's in your heart" frame-able card. Mine is just full of my babies---share with me who fills yours!

The people who fill my heart would have to be My Son, My hubby, Mum & Dad. There are countless others but they are the main ones.

The people who fill my heart is my husband, mom, dad, and 2 sisters. But most of all my daughter in heaven. It will be a year this Sunday since we lost her. My heart hurts just as much as the day she left us. :(
