guest post: Confessions of a Newlywed

Hi lovely peeps! I'm Tiffany and I share my life's adventures over at Confessions of A Newlywed!

I'm a pretty normal 22 year old who decided to marry into the Coast Guard and bring all my earthly possessions and follow my hubby to the swamp. Otherwise known as Louisiana.

Thanks so much to Meg (yeah, we are on a first name basis hehe) for letting me share a piece of my heart.

Have you ever felt distraught.
Abandoned.
Lonely.
Confused.
Forgotten?

If you are human, you should have felt this way at some point of your life. Its a really sucky place to be in. A place that you cry out to God wondering where He has gone. Why would he leave you in a state of bewilderment and hurt.

In Acts 27, we have Paul, on a boat (im on a boat...im on a boat! ha) heading to Rome. He's been charged with blasphemy against the Law of the Jews. He did nothing wrong, and yet he was being persecuted for spreading the Truth.

He had such boldness, that it makes all of us seem so shy.

Well this boat was caught in the Northeaster winds and the crew was giving it all they had to stay on course.

What did Paul do?

He encouraged them to press on. He encouraged them after he told the crew they were going the wrong way into the storm, but of course they didn't listen. He told them to keep up.

Now, its easy keep fighting when you have a guy saying that God told him they would all be safe. So how does this apply you may ask.

I know this has been said before, but its so true.

Life is a storm at times.

We are blessed to have calm waters and "smooth sailing" and then other times we are thrown about each direction for a loooong time. I thank God for those who encourage me to keep going. Even though I feel God not helping me thru the tough times, there is always hope.

4 For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.

5 May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, 6 so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
-Romans 15

We have hope.

Our hope is in Christ Jesus.

He will be the one to encourage us, to not give up, because the enemy wants us to give up.

So if you begin to feel alone and that God doesn't help you, then look around and see what is it that He is trying to teach you. As my father has always told me,
"God may guide you around the storm, or He may guide you THROUGH the storm."

Hang on to that "life preserver" called Christ..when it starts getting rough.

I promise you, not all my posts are this serious.

But I share this because its part of life, and we could all use some encouragement!
