[my sister took these pictures and her camera is magical and makes my skin look good :)]
[except... why does my elbow look weird in that last picture....??]

lately i've been feeling kind of weird about fashion posts.
i realllllllly don't consider myself to be a fashion blogger by any means,
i actually don't think my outfits are that cool,
and i'm pretty sure i could never pull off any of those serious fashion blogger model poses.

so since we've been back i've been really hesitant to post any outfit pictures.
i kept thinking to myself, "have i lost sight of my original purpose with these posts?"
"am i trying to be something i'm most definitely not?"

i started posting pictures of outfits as a way to document me actually getting dressed,
to help me try to get my style and my groove back.
and really, i love fashion and mixing and matching and dressing up so it was fun to post my creations.

but fashion blogger?
no.

a lot of times i feel kind of vain when i take outfit pictures.
like, what makes me think have something worthwhile to contribute to the fashion world
[or to the large group of fashion bloggers]??

in terms of style or know-how, nothing really.

so i've kind of been at this inner dilemma.
do i have a clear reason for all these pictures?
do i want to be known only has outfit posts that i'm not even good at?
am i fulfilling the original goal i had for this little blog?
or am i just thinking too much about this all and people really don't care and i should just stop being crazy?

i'm thinking the latter...
and with that, i will end this nonsensical blog post and contemplate my existence. :)

I like them! We have really similar body types so it gives me ideas :) PS I love that we both have that skirt! Its one of my favorites!

Who says that what's technically "fashionable" is better than what the rest of us wear anyways? What's important is that YOU enjoy what you're wearing. I think you look very cute!

Love it! I probably wouldn't wear this, or wear it like this, but I really like how it looks on you - love the colors.

I don't think I have anything in particular to contribute to the fashion blogging world - I take outfit pics because, like you said, I enjoy mixing and matching pieces, and I'm comfortable admitting that I'm super vain and love posting pictures of myself. Outfit posts also encourage me to actually get dressed and go out and generally do something that I both enjoy and which involves spending time on my feet and offline and outside, which I have a hard time pushing myself to do unless I have a reason.

I don't know what kind of blogger I am, but I enjoy the outfit posts, so I'm going to keep doing them. That's good enough for me. :)

I think you should stop worrying so much...at all...about what anyone else thinks about what you do and don't post on your blog. I say that, knowing that I've also had my moments where I'm like "is this dumb to post on IG of Facebook or my blog or whatever"? I decided recently that if I like it, I'm going to share it. End of story. It seems like you enjoy your fashion posts, so you should keep doing them! Blogging always feels better to me when I do what I want, even if there are times when no one comments or seems to care. If I care, that matters :)

Amen to Katie's comment!

It's not so much that I'm caring about what people think of my outfits (since I've posted some crazy ones that I know people didn't like that much but I liked them), it's more that I feel like sometimes I'm losing sight of my original ambitions for my blog or even for my outfit posts. I just want to have more meaning in my writing and sometimes I think I do the outfit posts because I know they are easy and get views because people like them. But I don't want to be known only as that, I'd like to be seen as a blogger with a little more deeper meaning if that makes sense. So I hesitate sometimes with that and coming off to superficial. I don't know if I'm making any sense but that's kind of where I was going with this :)

I'm just amazed that you can still wear multiple layers while in Arizona. Wearing shirts under a shirt is just not happening here!

So pretty pretty! Definitely keep posting your outfits, I love them (except that weird clown shirt). LOL I'm jealous you can wear skirts that short. Anything at or above my knees is too short, if ya know what I mean.

I always feel the same way when I want to do an outfit post (which I have never done for this reason). But then I think.. I LOVE looking at other people's outfit posts. It shows me what regular women look like in affordable clothes and a lot of the time it inspires me to create something similar from my old closet. So, don't think you're vain....as a girl who hardley ever wears more than sweatpants, its fun to show off a little when you actually put something cute together!

And one of my favorite quotes says "We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine."
