{Monday} Favorites

i was kind of lazy this weekend and pretty much didn’t get anything done.
which is why my Saturday Favorites post is being written on a Monday.

but it was a good weekend nonetheless including a huge CHOP to my hair!
i’m excited about it and can’t wait to show some pictures.

in the meantime, here’s another installation of life through Eli’s eyes.
{and literally of his eyes}
he became obsessed with the flash as you can see by the white-out pictures.
don’t worry. we were good parents enough to stop it before he had a seizure or something.

Eli's photo collage

i seriously love that he took a picture of his blankie and a screenshot of his drawing.
that kid… is a character!

now for some fun links!

i can’t wait to try these. i like the idea of them being healthier but still amazing :)

these are some of my absolute favorite posts by Rachel.

i obviously was craving chocolate when i made this list because oh my gosh these also look awesome!

this is something i didn’t even think about with siblings. great tips!

Saturday Favorites

this week started off {really} rough but has ended on a pretty positive note.
we are starting/finishing some projects up before Adam goes back to slaving away at school and it has been pretty fun to work alongside him to make our apartment more homey
{fun and at times frustrating. we have two very different ways of thinking :)}

and Elijah is just loving all this time he has while we are getting things together to watch Dora the Explorer without interruptions. except to switch it to Blue’s Clues of course.
i know. we’re A+ parents like that.

100

so if you have the Dore the Explorer theme song stuck in your head like i do,
here are some links to help you have happier thoughts :)

after this week, i definitely needed this post.

this is on my bucket list too. so so gorgeous!

after this easy DIY i desperately want to cover something in burlap.

one of the most gorgeous baby blankets i’ve seen.

chocolate cake + York peppermint candies = yes please!

i really really really think i want to get this skirt with some shop credit i won. it will make my life complete.

i have a blog planner from Tranae of Becoming Fabulous and L.O.V.E it! so cute, so organized, so perfect. if you need help staying organized with your blog like me {especially as i started taking sponsors} you should definitely get a planner from her!

eShakti is obviously the coolest and is offering Here’s To You, Mrs. Robinson readers 10% off your purchase with code MR26GAN. do it do it!! you won’t regret it :)

and don’t forget to enter this giveaway to win a $50 gift card to Lisa Leonard Designs!

HAPPY SATURDAY, FRIENDS!

Saturday Favorites

happy saturday!

i hope you guys have some fun plans for today!
i have a list of stuff that i want to do for this summer but running out of time.
so hopefully we’ll be knocking off some of the things on my list today
{or we will be cleaning which is most likely what we really will be doing… fun huh?}

while you kick back and relax today and i’m stuck cleaning up after 2 boys,
here’s some great links you should check out!

love this sweet & powerful post by Lena of Mom 2 Memphis and Ruby.
such an important reminder that our children, and all people, are still amazing individuals despite whatever difficulties they may have and that we should always show love first.

this post is so so great! first of all, Ashley is hilarious and i could not stop laughing throughout the post. and second of all, she has touched on the exact reason why i wanted to start blogging in the first place. so perfect!

and while we’re on the blogging subject, this post by Raven of A Momma’s Pacifiers and Desires is absolutely brilliant! i have been thinking {and becoming frustrated with} blogging cliques lately and have thought about writing my own post on it but Raven says everything better than i could. definitely a must-read!

Margot has a really great series on her blog called Penny Pinching Tips. she gives really great ideas to save money and in this post she gives some great ideas to get local/fresh produce and save money. can’t wait to check all these out!

Rae is a really inspiring person and is constantly inspiring others as well! she started The Kite Project as a way to encourage others to follow their dreams. she will be starting another round in the future and i can’t wait to link up!

Chelsea always has great toddler activity ideas and this is one of my favorites!
i can’t wait to try this Milk-Painted Toast with Elijah one morning {when i’m not feeling lazy}.
i know he would love it and i will love the fact that it will help him actually eat breakfast :)

i absolutely love lighthouses! so when i saw this picture by Kim i was immediately drawn to it.
Kim has a wonderful eye for photos and has a lot of other beautiful prints in her shop.

Brielle from Mr. D & Me just opened up her own Etsy shop with a couple of super cute prints!
i love this baking one and think it would look so great in my kitchen {and the colors match great too!}
check out her shop here.

that’s all for now.
have a WONDERFUL weekend!!

Saturday Favorites

i can’t believe July starts tomorrow!!
where has this year gone already?
i can’t believe how much has already happened this year and how much we still have planned.
crazy crazy!!

we are spending today organizing and planning for the next month.
and for my biiiirrrrrtttthhhhddddaaaaayyyyy!!!!
guys, BIG/AWESOME THINGS are planned for next week to celebrate!!
so be sure to check back every day next week for some great prizes!

but today, you should definitely take a gander at these links because they are pretty amazing as well. as in i just spent a ridiculous amount of time obsessing over them myself so you are bound to waste some time get some great ideas out of them!

love this post by Kim on the importance of saying “I Love You”
i need to remember to tell those I care about that i love them more often.
sometimes i assume they already know because of my actions or something,
but there’s something so much more special about actually saying it out loud.
i know i can definitely try better.

this series by Ashley and her husband Nathan is so fun!
i love getting to know them both better and hear a male’s perspective about things like The Bachelorette :)

i really want to try these Haystacks that Brittany made.
i think Elijah would absolutely love them and would make a great little snack for him.

love these cute engagements Alisha took recently!
first, i love that dress!
and second, i feel like i need to get some awesome cowboy boots now :)

i absolutely LOVE these sensory tub ideas from Counting Coconuts!
i had never heard of sensory tubs before my friend introduced me and i think they are such a great idea
{especially for busy and curious kids like Elijah!}.
we had a craft day a couple of weeks ago putting together things for our own sensory tubs too.
i have yet to actually put it all together though since we are in the process of packing stuff up and don’t want to have to have another thing to put away.
but i can’t wait to try it out and i know Elijah will really enjoy it!

i am obsessed with this piano.
OBSESSED!!
i have been looking over Craigslist for a very long time trying to find one that we can redo and paint.
i love it so so much and need something like this in my home!

i saw this tape measure a little while ago and have thought about it ever since!
i love the idea of keeping track of our children’s height and think this is such a cute and classy way to do that.
so simple and perfect!

love this simple 4th of July wreath Aubrey made and shared on After Nine to Five!
i never would have thought of doing something like that or using a cute frame.
it looks so awesome!!

and one more thing before i sign off.
i will be {greatly} decreasing the amount of sponsors i take on for August since we will be moving and getting settled into our new place. and then after that i will probably be making more changes to sponsoring as well since our life will be hectic for a while.
so if you are interested in sponsoring, July is a great time to do so since there will be lots of great opportunities for exposure before these changes take place
kind of like a last big hurrah!
{think HUGE birthday giveaways and guest posting while we pack}
so be sure to check out my sponsor page if you are interested
[and i also have one XL ad spot left as well :)]

HAPPY SATURDAY!!

Saturday Favorites

after feeling like crap all week, i finally got out of the house yesterday to go see some of the GORGEOUS homes in the Utah Valley Parade of Homes.
these homes were absolutely amazing!!
from indoor basketball courts and in-home movie theaters to GIANT master bedrooms and the most beautiful little girl room i have ever seen… these homes had it all!
if you need any motivation to become ridiculously & superfluously wealthy, you should definitely check out these houses.
they.are.nuts!

so while i think about ways to make our tiny 600 sq. ft. apartment look like a million dollar designer home,
here are some fun links for you to check out!

love the 5 Tips series that Ashley does each week and i especially loved this week’s “How to improve your blog right now” post. so great & helpful!!

Bonnie wrote a great post about anonymous & rude commenters this week and how they really must go.

i needed this motivation & reminder from Brittany this week to move forward with faith.

so excited for Jen and Laryssa as they change up their blog and make it a space they absolutely love! i love those girls and think they are so talented. they have great stuff in store :)

a little while ago i got some pretty amazing samples from Tiffany of Perfectly Post and LOVED them!
once i finally found myself with time to pamper myself, i realized i need to make this date with Perfectly Posh a more regular thing.
i tried the Sugar Fix and the Sinful Skin as well as some others and loved them!
be sure to check out Tiffany’s website and order some of your own products.
promise you will enjoy them greatly!

i love nurseries and the creative ways people decorate them!
i wish we had the space {and money!} to do more with Elijah’s room.
but this cute nursery from Christine for her little girl is just so precious yet perfectly simple.
i love it and it just gives me another reason why i really need a girl next :)

so i didn’t really know if i was into the whole tapered skirt trend. but then i saw this skirt from Couture Luv and i kind of absolutely love it!! maybe it’s the bright color {or maybe it’s the shoes!!} but it totally captures me.
i think it’s time i branch out!

and who doesn’t love absolutely cute free printables??
this one from Ninth Street Notions is so fun and a perfect summertime decor addition to brighten up your little space!

HAPPY SATURDAY!!

Saturday Favorites {on a Monday}

this last week has been exhausting.
more apartment hunting and {finally} signing a contract, Elijah getting sick, Adam’s birthday, getting ready for Father’s Day, and then being hit with a terrible terrible stomach flu.
guys, i felt like i was dying!
i told Adam over and over again that something felt terribly wrong, i had never been in that much pain before. {including contractions!}
i couldn’t relax or keep anything down and everything in my body seemed to hurt.
blah!!

the irony of it all too was that literally the day before i told Adam and my friend that i thought i was starting to get ready to want to be pregnant again.
then BAM!! throwing up forever.
so thank you stomach flu for reminding me how i HATED pregnancy and i’m definitely not ready yet. ha!

thankfully i’m feeling little bit better now though i can’t move my body more than a few inches at a time.
so i thought i’d take this window of opportunity to do my Saturday Favorites even though it’s now Monday.
{but i’m sure you can all understand the delay :)}

so here’s my favorite links from this week!

i love this post by Beth from Through the Eyes of the Mrs. reminding us to be grateful for the little things.
i feel like i get pretty stressed and bogged down easily and forget to count the small blessings in my life that make it all worthwhile.
love her list and definitely want to make a list of my own soon!

this post by Laura… dying. DYING!!!
after a crazy week, i found this post from Laura and it was exactly what i needed.
so stinking funny!!

i love this post on marriage by Elizabeth and think it is so true!
i know in my own marriage going to school, working, and having a kid all influenced our marriage apathy and it can be a hard rut to get out of.
love her honesty and encouragement to get out of the marriage rut and remind each other why you fell in love in the first place!

this Anywhere Chair from Nana’s Hugs and Kisses is so cute and so GENIUS!!
i love it and think it’s a perfect diaper bag accessory when you are out and about.
you can also check out her Facebook page for more amazing projects by Annette!
and when you stop by her page be sure to tell her Mrs. Robinson sent you :)

even in my deathly state this still looks amazing!
Leilani whipped up [pun intended] this delicious treat on her blog.
perfect for your 4th of July barbecue!

i really love this coaster set from Annie over at Hello Sunshine Photography & Blog.
i really really love the color and patters and think it would compliment any style of decor in your home.
i think they would even be cute to hang on the wall in a kitchen or something to liven up the space.
love them!

i wish i was more on top of things and got this cute card for Adam for Father’s Day.
i think it is so cute and so fitting for him!
Heidi has lots of cute designs though in her shop so you should definitely check them out for the next holiday.

i also love these storybook blocks from Katy at Somewhere Over the Rainbow!
i love the art on them and think Elijah would love pointing out all the different animals.
adorable!

that’s all for now!
i wish you all a very happy & healthy Monday!!
please eat some strawberries and whip cream for me

actually on that note… what can you eat when you have the stomach flu?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
:)

this one looks especially delicious and a great way to get some healthy food into my boys
{and by boys i really just mean Adam…}

another recipe i know Adam would love are these stuffed cherry tomatoes from Amy at The Charming Blog.
first of all, don’t they just look so cute!! i love it!
and they look absolutely, positively delicious!
i really shouldn’t be writing these posts on an empty stomach
check out the recipe {and recipe card!} here

speaking of eating healthy, i’m so excited for Kristina’s link-party Simple Steps to Healthy Living.
i think it will be such a great way to get ideas from others of how to eat right and live right.
i know i could really use the help especially as Elijah is getting older and i need to be more careful about what i feed him so he can grow up healthy and strong.
i hope you all participate!
see ya there, June 13th!

love this keychain from Sebastian Design!
we have one for our wedding and Elijah’s birthday. i love the constant reminder to keep with us wherever we go!
and this would be a great gift for Father’s Day coming up too!
and also note that Jessica will be taking a break come July so better get your orders in now!!

Rachel has the BEST tutorials!! and they are so simple and cute!
{well, the triangle quilt looks a little more complicated but still incredibly gorgeous!}
i love these neon painted pots and how much it spruces up your little garden.
i can’t wait to finally have a balcony to grow plants on and i can’t wait to try this.

HAPPY HAPPY WEEKEND!

Saturday Favorites

HAPPY SATURDAY!!
i don’t know why but this week felt particularly long…
maybe it’s because of the fact that Eli has woken up every night this week so this week has been a blur.
blurgh!
but i’m happy the weekend is finally here so i can be even more lazy than i was this week.
or more like Adam can sit around and be lazy with me.
and that’s the best kind of lazy when we can all be bums together! :)

so to get us started on this great, lazy weekend,
here are some of my favorite links this week!

Melissa from The Life of a Not So Ordinary Wife is co-hosting a really great blog series on the how-to’s of blogging. she has some really awesome guest posts on blogging tips, guest posting, sponsorships, and more!

i love this shell & pearl necklace from Simply.Lovely.Things!

so i think this necklace would be a beautiful addition to my collection!

oh.my.fetch.so.stinking.adorable.i.cannot.handle.
not are these pictures pretty much the cutest thing ever, but Christie of Christie Knight Photography is soooo uber talented!! i have loved looking through her website at all the her beautiful photos!

and if you are the Phoenix, Arizona area, you should definitely consider having Christie take your next family pictures! because again, have you seen how adorable these pictures are?!?!

dear Cecilia,
stop being so gorgeous & incredibly fashionable!
those shoes you are wearing in the first picture? pretty sure i have seen those at the DI before and thought they would be ugly. but somehow you can rock them to the max!! now i want to go buy some of my own.
you rock!
love, Megan

but seriously guys, Dearest Lou is a new fashion blog favorite of mine and you should go check her out like now.

i LOVE these custom wreaths from Maribel at Eight Tree Street!!
i never could have come up with such cute designs like she does!
this wreath is one of my favorites because of the bright, summery colors and amazing peacock feather with rhinestones.
i think i can count this as a mandatory purchase, yes??
because it’s absolutely gorgeous!
Maribel has lots of other great designs as well so be sure to browse through her shop or create a custom wreath of your own.

another mandatory purchase? these earrings from Bagatelle Designs.
they are screaming my name.
SCREAMING!
they are beautiful and the color is amazing!
definitely check out Sophie’s shop for lots of other pretty jewelry.

Saturday Favorites

this week was a good, busy, lazy, long week!
and i have a feeling this weekend is going to be the same.
starting with having to give talks in church tomorrow… 12 minute talks!!
that’s long right?? i feel like that’s a really long time to speak…
and i have barely looked at my topic. cool.

but while i’m pushing off my talk just a little longer i thought i’d share with you some of my favorite links from this week.

first, the Better Blogger Network launched this week!!
in just 5 days there are already over 300 members who have joined!
that is amazing!!
the Better Blogger Network is a great way to connect with your favorite bloggers, meet new friends, get help & advice, increase your circle, and so much more.
so be sure to sign up and get started!

i love the way Leilani writes.
she’s honest and inspiring and incredibly beautiful!
this post really touched me especially coming out of a week where i just kept feeling like a failure of a mother. i’m so glad to know her and to be inspired by her every day.
if you haven’t read her blog yet, you need to!

this kid is by far the most stylish kid i have ever seen!
i wish i had cute clothes like that for Elijah.
so so so ridiculously cute!

Gentri is the cutest. ever.
Gentri with a baby goat is the cutest x a million.
so you definitely want to go check out that cuteness :)

i have really been loving prints lately and seeing all the different things artists come up with!
i want to fill my home with art and would love to get lots of colorful artwork from different artists to put in Elijah’s room.
so when i saw that Kristin made this list of really great artwork by some of her favorite artists, i was really excited to have more people to stalk.
seriously. people are SO talented!!! i wish i was blessed with that.

these smoothies Brittany made look so amazing!
i can’t wait to try them this summer as it heats up.

even though Mother’s Day is over, i still want everything in this Mother’s Day gift guide from Ashley.
especially that elephant teapot!!
so let’s just call it Megan’s Birthday gift guide :)

Sue & Laura teamed up to have the There’s No Place Like Home link up!
i’m sure we all wonder what our fellow bloggers homes really look like so now you can show off your home sweet home and link up with everyone else for virtual tours.
pretty awesome idea!
there’s only about a day left so be sure to hurry and link up!

that’s it for now.
have a happy Saturday!!

Saturday Favorites: Mother’s Day Edition

HAPPY SATURDAY!!

i thought it would be fun to go through some of my favorite shops and pick out some great Mother’s Day gifts for the mothers in your life.
i know Mother’s Day is tomorrow… but if you are a procrastinator like me you are still fumbling around for ideas.
it can be a late gift right??
it’s the thought that counts.

i love these custom photo blocks from Somewhere Over the Rainbow! this is such a cool idea and a really fun way to show off those cute pictures.

one of my absolute favorite stores for hand stamped jewelry!! these Sebastian Design necklaces {or keychains!} are such a great way to show your love & appreciation for your mother!

this is one of my favorite paintings by Caitlin and i love the message behind it. this would be a perfect print to share with those mothers who are still waiting for their little ones to join them but are still mothers in every sense of the word. it is such a deep and profound painting to me and i cannot get enough of it.
i also love love love this new drawing she made but hasn’t listed in her shop yet. i saw it first on Instagram and have been obsessing ever since. she’s so beautiful and talented!!

Through the Eyes of the Mrs. just opened up her own shop and it’s wonderful!! this necklace is already one of my favorites and would make a great gift for any mom!

i love this print so much!! 1. it reminds me of the joy & fun i have reading to Elijah and 2. it also makes me want to have a little girl with matching shoes. but more so 1 than 2. so so cute!! Kate did it again!

my sister’s shop is obviously amazing/incredible/awesome! and so is this necklace. so simple & beautiful i think it would be perfect for a mom who wants to have an elegant look but not be too flashy. love it!

i love this quote and i love the canvas art for the home! such a perfect reminder! and i love all the other quotes as well from Franchesca’s shop that you can mix and match with.

i also love this necklace!! Laura also shows that you can layer different beaded necklaces and it’s a gorgeous look! i love the simplicity of this necklace but the color and style is still beautiful. perfect gift!!

i love this painting by Birds of Ashmae and the message i get from it. she has other really beautiful pieces portraying motherhood and they are all stunning!

BlushRN-1
i have been swooning over Soleil Selene’s necklaces forever! and this color is one of my favorites! i love the femininity of it and the beautiful design. it would be a perfect compliment to any outfit dressy or casual!

k you guys might be thinking “why this print for Mother’s day?” uh… stress reliever in the office!!! perfect for the working mom to remember the simple joys of cupcakes when the days get hard. i know my mom would like it at least {i think} :)

i love this headband from J & M’s Eye Candy and think it would be equally as beautiful as a pin for your hair or jacket! it’s so elegant & classy. love it!

i have so many other shops i could share with you but i have to stop somewhere.
aren’t all these women so incredibly talented though??
i am blown away by their gifts!

also, don’t forget that Laura from Our Reflection is having a Mother’s Day mall on her blog with lots of discounts from other shops as well so if you are still looking for ideas be sure to check that out!
