1. How would your friends describe you?

I think they would describe me as loyal, kind and caring.  I am always there for my friends when they need me. They would probably say I am a little weird and crazy too!

 

2. How long have you been married and what {honest} advice would you give to someone about to be married?

My husband and I have been married for almost 7 years (our anniversary is in August)!  Honestly, I got married somewhat young (21).  We had only dated 3 months before he proposed and were married 5 months after that.  We were in love and knew we were meant to be together, so we thought getting married at that time was the right thing to do.  Of course I don't regret it...but I'm not going to lie, that first year was tough!  It took time getting used to the things that would push each others buttons.  I always tell people who are about to get married that marriage is not like a Disney movie.  It takes work...and communication is key.  You have to be able to voice if something is upsetting you, or if something makes you happy.  Your husband or wife will not magically know your personal needs, so you need to fill them in.  That way you will know how to make each other happy!

3. How did you start your blog and why?

I started my blog in January of this year.  I have always had an interest in fashion/beauty, but when I had kids I kind of stopped caring about how I looked.  I would sit around in sweatpants and t-shirts all day.  I thought that if I started a blog where I could post pictures of my outfits it would give me some motivation to get out of those sweatpants and get into something cute (So far it has worked)!  I also started my blog because I wanted to provide ideas and inspiration to anyone looking for ways to dress modestly, while still being fashionable.

How could you not be inspired by these beautiful Utah mountains?

 

4. What inspires you?

 I think I am most inspired by nature.  Have you ever gone on a long hike up a mountain, or sat on a deserted beach looking out at the ocean, and just taken time to look around at this beautiful planet we are so blessed to live on?  It's times like those when I can relax and my mind is filled with ideas and inspiration!

5. What would your totem-pole animal spirit be?

I think I would have to go with a sea otter.  Ever since I was little I have had a love for sea otters.  The ocean is truly amazing to me, there are so many interesting creatures out there.  I have plans to get scuba certified, so I can explore a small portion of it!

6. What are some of your favorite blog posts and why?

My favorite blog posts are my tutorials, because I love to help others learn how to do things!  On my blog you can see how to dye clothing or remove that pesky glitter nail polish...I don't have the best crafty skills, so if I can do it ANYONE can do it!

 

7. How do you define success?

I think success is simply loving your life.  I feel successful in my own life, because I have an amazing family and a job that allows me to travel, while still being home with my kids most of the time!

 

8. What advice would you give to new bloggers?

Stay true to yourself.  You may see an extremely successful blog and want to copy what they are doing, but the reason they are successful is because they are unique.   Write about what you know and love. Also, don't be afraid to ask other bloggers questions.  From my experience, most of them are pretty nice and would be happy to help.

9. What is a talent you have that you wish you used more?

I used to be a pretty decent singer.  After high school I kind of lost interest and stopped singing.  Now I am not so great, haha.  I wish I would have kept practicing and improving my voice.

10. Do you squeeze the top of the toothpaste tube or the bottom? Which one does your husband do?

I think we both squeeze from the middle until it gets low, then we roll it up from the bottom to push it out.

11. What are your goals for the future {long and short}?

My short term goal is to get my house clean...I didn't do a good Spring cleaning, so a Summer cleaning will have to do!  For the long term I would like to work on growing my blog and traveling to as many countries as possible.  My kids have never been on a super long flight, so I am working up the courage to fly with them internationally!

yes. yes you do!
i love how she describe success! i think we sometimes miss the point in life and think we need awards or recognition to be successful when really it can/should be as simple as just loving the life you have.
i need to work on that :)

and her short term goal of getting her house clean… seriously what mom doesn’t have that as a short term goal?? i feel like that is always a goal i’m working towards, ha.
