I wasn't bothered much by 50 shades of grey, I thought it was alright and read all three even though it's pretty badly written. definitely won't be reading this one though! thanks for the heads up.Chelsea Oliviahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11809115137318952745noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214888787184795220.post-42999420671702049842012-10-18T19:37:42.448-07:002012-10-18T19:37:42.448-07:00I'm so glad I passed on this book. I read a disturbing book for the book club last year and it was SO HARD to get through it and then try to forget it!

Ugh.Livhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03545374359231638275noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214888787184795220.post-12611369926272183002012-10-18T17:34:51.605-07:002012-10-18T17:34:51.605-07:00I'm so sorry you had to read it lol
And yes, ...I'm so sorry you had to read it lol
And yes, I think the whole shades of grey is horrible. Christian women were in love with it, and frankly I think it's not good for women to idolize such things. Similar to you, I wouldn't call myself a prude but definitely don't seek out pain, but I think these books are written for normal women. It's mostly about a normal woman getting involved with a man who has very dark preferences and (little spoiler!) how he works to move past his obsessions and early childhood abuse because of his love. It also address the woman's stuggle to deal with this kinky stuff that she's not familiar or comfortable with. While not for everyone, I would definitely reccommend giving these books a shot. They aren't literary masterpieces but are enjoyable and not evil and pro-abuse like I have heard some people refer to them.amandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06442172590194650612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6214888787184795220.post-37518838093317971862012-10-18T10:31:32.150-07:002012-10-18T10:31:32.150-07:00I started reading 50 Shades of Grey the other nigh...I started reading 50 Shades of Grey the other night and so far it's really good but it's just now getting into the dominate submissive part so we'll see how it goes. I feel the same way you do and probably wouldn't be able to handle Diary of a Submissive, and we'll see if I can even finish the 50 Shades one!
